Thanks, Arie. With just elementary notions of Greek, I would have translated
the phrase as "with His holy myriads", which is an expression that could be
applied both to humans and to angels, although more naturally to the latter.
What I found strange, however, was that a literal translation like Green's
would render the phrase as "with myriads of His saints". Since angels are
not usually called "saints", I wondered why the passage had been interpreted
in that way. Either I was missing something or Green's Literal Translation
had not been so literal here, after all.
