In my opinion the proposition in 5: 18 is the beginning of a number of
verses:
EI DE PNEUMATI AGESQE, OUK ESTE hUPO NOMON.
In 5:19-22 Paul speaks about the difference between ERGA THS SARKOS and the
KARPOS TOU PNEUMATOS. Then he reaches in 5:23 the conclusion the law cannot
be against people that possess the KARPOS TOU PNEUMATOS.
The opposite conclusion (however without a *direct* reference to the NOMOS)
can be found in BASILEIAN QEOU OU KLHRONOMHSOUSIN (5: 21).
