Raymond Brown wrote an authoritative review of Klassen's books
shortly before his death. It's online in the SBL's Review of
Biblical Literature at:

Here's a quotation relevant to the discussion of PARADIDWMI, which
echoes some of the points made in the current thread:
"In my judgment his interpretations of individual passages, often
only remotely possible, do not do justice to the overall flow of the
Gospel narratives. For example, he joins those who argue that
PARADIDONAI means "to give/hand over" and should not be translated
"betray" (a translation I rigorously avoided in The Death of the
Messiah), but then (p. 23) he seems to think it illogical if Gospel
exegetes speak of Judas as betraying Jesus. Luke 6:16, however, does
use the word PRODOTHS, "traitor." The Synoptic evangelists portray
sequentially the chief priests seeking a way to arrest and kill Jesus
(two Gospels specifying that they wanted to avoid public tumult in so
doing), Judas receiving money to give Jesus over, and then his coming
at night with others who seize or arrest Jesus. Other interpretations
may be possible, but it is quite proper for most commentators to read
that sequence as recounting betrayal. I do not know if any
contemporary account of Benedict Arnold uses the verb "betray"; but
historians are not illogical in calling him a traitor since
as commander in charge of West Point, anticipating favors from the
British, he informed their agent how they might easily take that
strategic fort."
