Hi mister Evans.
I am a beginning Greek student myself.
I also do this at home without a teacher.
It is understandable that you feel that reading all the mail from B-Greek is not making good use of your time.
I felt the same way.
Now I get the B-Greek mailing in digest form.
It is much faster to scan through the different posts this way than to go through the individual e-mails.
The disadvantage is that it is harder to participate in the discussion because the mailing is always a bit behind. (Hence my late post.)
You can just delete the entire digest with one click if you don't see much that is of interest to you.
But...at least you still have a forum to ask questions.
If you are like me, it will be very discouraging if you have no one of whom to ask questions.
If you decide to discontinue anyways, there is another forum available at www.textkit.com
Most of the participants there deal with Classical or Homeric Greek but there is also a discussion board that deals with Biblical Greek.
The percentage of beginners is greater than on B-Greek so you may feel more at home there.
The mood is a bit more casual but you may miss the lack of purpose that B-Greek has, namely; to learn Greek in order to read the GNT.
Wishing you the best
Bert de Haan.
