[B-Greek] faith and faithfulness

I have this question regarding a note in the NET
Bible:

"faith in Jesus Christ." A decision is difficult here.
Though traditionally translated "faith in Jesus
Christ," an increasing number of NT scholars are
arguing that PISTIS CRISTOU and similar phrases in
Paul (Rom 3:22, 26; Gal 2:16, 20; 3:22; Eph 3:12; Phil
3:9) involve a subjective genitive and mean "Christ’s
faith" or "Christ’s faithfulness"...(from Gal. 2:15)

This note is most confusing to me, probably because
I'm understanding it based on the English expressions.
I may have "faith" in someone or something, but that
would not have any bearing on whether or not I am a
"faithful" person. To say Christ has "faith" does not
seem to me to say anything about Christ's
faithfulness, and this note seems to use these
expressions interchangeably. Any help would be
appreciated.
