[B-Greek] Re: Unicode vs. Older Software - A Survey

I must report that I apparently was mistaken in my previous post. I looked
again at the archive link posted by George using my IE 6.0 browser, and now
I see boxes where the accents are supposed to be. I could have sworn the
accents were there when I looked previously!

Sorry.

George, I disagree with your statement that the archives does not store it
correctly. I followed your link to the archives and saw the Greek displayed
the same as it was in the original postings that I received via email.

I'm using IE 6.0 on Windows XP, svc. pack 2.

I think some of us simply have our systems configured properly while others
may not. The Internet and the B-Greek software appear to be ready for
Unicode. But we need to come up with a FAQ to help us all understand what
we have to do to make our own client systems ready.

. . .
I see no Greek there whatsoever. I did, however, check the thread for James
Tauber's 4 tests. When he sent them through the list ## 3 & 4 appeared
correctly on my screen. #4 is here
http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/2005-April/033913.html . In the
archives it DOES NOT appear correctly. I don't know precisely what the
problem is, but it seems that it is not stored in the proper format to
preserve the coding since it originally came through the list properly.
