I am struggling with how to make since of this verse. I'm leaning toward
taking the participles as the protasis of a conditional sentence with the
future as the apodosis. That's probably not good Koine, but with Diognetus
being part of the Attic revival, I am wondering if this might be legitimate
way of rendering it. I am currently trudging my way through Smyth for an
explanation, but if someone could point me in the right direction it would
certainly help me get more sleep tonight.
thanks,
