Need it be an either / or proposition? It seems that you could do both
/ and. "Speed read" the first time and on the second reading go slower
and look up the words you don't know. Or, go slow the first time and
speed read the second. Either way, you'll be doing the one essential
thing in learning- and that is- the doing.
