After listing some OT examples of jealousy and envy,
this follows:

1. ALL' hINA TWN ARCAIWN hUPODEIGMATWN PAUSWMEQA,
EQWMEN EPI TOUS EGGISTA GENOMENOUS AQLHTAS
LABWMEN THS GENEAS hHMWN TA GENNAIA hUPODEIGMATA
<snip>
3. LABWMEN PRO OFQALMWN hHMWN TOUS AGAQOUS
APOSTOLOUS...

Here are my guesses at this passage:

But so that we might conclude/end (move on from) these
ancient examples, let us (now) place (our attention??)
upon the combatants/strugglers of those who are
nearest to us. Let us set before us these excellent
examples from our own generation...

3. Let us set before our eyes those good Apostles

Is the ALL' hINA...PAUSWMEQA a result or purpose
clause? Either one doesn't make too much sense to me.

Does LABWMEN mean 'let us set before us' (I assume
this because of the way it is use in vs 3, set before
"our eyes"). Was it used that way in the GNT?
