Yes. Sentence diagramming is very helpful to understand the flow of
thought. However, I prefer what Mouce and others call sentence phrasing or
sentence flow. That is, organizing the parts of the sentence according to
grammatical structure.
Scot McKnight discusses this concept in his book Introducing New Testament
Interpretation (ch 3) in which he discusses the value of sentence
diagramming. Then, he lists the steps to follow with Greek examples. Gordon
Fee in New Testament Exegesis (sec II.1) gives an excellent and detailed
explanation of how to do a sentence flow.
