The first thing that struck me is that hINA is followed by a future verb
form. I understand now that is not that rare. Is there a difference in
meaning if a subjunctive had have been used?
My main question though, is the singular verb.
I take the plural hOI PLUNONTES to be the subject. Is hH EXOUSIA considered
to cover hOI PLUNONTES as a group, and therefore singular? If that is the
case, is the verb singular because the predicate is singular?

HH: The subject is EXOUSIA: "so that their authority will be to the tree of life."
