[B-Greek] The Genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3

Let me see if I understand your comments.

1. First of all the TOU QEOU in v.38 applies to ADAM.

Working through the genealogy, if TOU QEOU applies (only?) to Adam then
TOU ADAM applies (only ?) to EHQ and TOU MATQAT should apply (only?) to
HLI. Does this mean that we cannot (or should not) link HLI with AEVI
so that we could not read TOU HLI TOU MATQAT TOU AEVI and take it to
suggest TOU HLI TOU AEVI?

The key point of my original message is to determine whether we should
read the genealogy as IWSHF TOU HLI (making this Joseph's genealogy) or
IHSOUS TOU HLI (making it Jesus' genealogy - nothing to do with
Joseph). What is your sense of the Greek on this?

2. Second ENOMIZETO applies only to N hUIOS, hWS ... IWSHF, not the
whole genealogy.

I am not sure that understand the point you make here. If we read that
Jesus was alleged to be of Joseph and Joseph was of Heli, then we could
understand that Jesus was alleged to be of Heli (i.e., Jesus was alleged
to be the son of Joseph and alleged to be the grandson of Heli). If
ENOMIZETO does not apply to the whole genealogy, then do I understand
your point to be that we should read the text to tell us IHSOUS TOU HLI
(making it Jesus' genealogy and nothing to do with Joseph).

3. Third the affirmation of Jesus sonship is unanbiguous in v.22 KAI
FWNHN EX OURANOU GENESQAI: SU EI hO hUIOS MOU hO AGAPHTOS, EN SOI EUDOKHSA.

I agree. Because of this, it seems to me that v23 should be giving us
the genealogy of Jesus and not of Joseph (a genealogy of Joseph would
seem to be irrelevant since he is not the father of Jesus). Is that a
conclusion that I can draw from the Greek text or is such a conclusion
not possible?

Although unstated in my original message, the larger issue is to
understand the Luke 3 genealogy as it relates to the Matthew 1 genealogy.
