Mitch:

I know we've talked about this before, but this verse
is yet another example of the need to FIRST determine
if a temporal proposition is being made. Too often we
look at the details (morphology) of the words in a
passage before we assess the temporal nature of the
proposition.

The idea is not "we have all sinned sometime in the
past..." There is no attempt to establish a temporal
or chronological sequence here other than what
sequences logically stand. The Aorist simply gathers
the idea of sin into one ball of wax and comments on
the larger issue of sin.

"...all sin (as a fact of life) and come short (Middle
Voice: having themselves to blame for this) of the
glory of God..."
