The New Hope Turkey Run, a fundraiser for the New Hope Improvement Association, will take place Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. on Whitfield Road in Chapel Hill.
The Turkey Run, arguably the oldest annual race in the area, is on a roughly 4-mile course in the Korstian Division of Duke Forest.
Times are recorded and awards are given to the top three male and female finishers. There will be a light breakfast afterward and participants will be eligible for a drawing for baked goods made by members of the neighborhood association, as well as merchandise from businesses in Chapel Hill and Durham.
The race is limited to 200 entrants and walking is allowed. Entry forms can be found at Duke Forest gates in the Korstian Division, the Al Buehler Trail parking lot on the Duke golf course and local running shoe stores or downloaded at newhopeneighbors.blogspot.com
