City Kitchen hosted a complimentary appreciation luncheon for Carrboro High School teachers on June 8. Several teachers were recognized for their outstanding dedication and Principal Kelly Batten was given a farewell sendoff.
Batten has been the principal of CHS since 2008 and is leaving to become the executive director of Secondary Education and Career Technical Education (CTE) for Chatham County Schools.
Teachers who were recognized at the luncheon are Jennifer Jones, Teacher of the Year; Rita Simpson, Exceptional Children and Student Services Award; Jan Gottschalk, Silver Jaguar Award; Mackensie Malkemes, Jaguar Cub Award; Kara Watson, Jaguar Pack Award; Josh Kimborough, Best Supporting Jaguar Male Award; and Belinda Nix, Best Supporting Jaguar Female Award.
