The Carolina Production Guild is now accepting
entries for its 5th Annual Hi Mom! Film Festival, which will be
held April 11-13, 2002 at various venues in Chapel Hill
and Carrboro, NC.
The festival is soliciting short films by
people "with deep thoughts and shallow pockets," organizers
say. There is no entry fee for entries submitted before January 1, 2002;
late entries will be accepted until January 31 with a $15
late fee.
Hi Mom! is billed as three days of music,
movies, and yes again: pancakes in the shape of your initials.
Free to enter, and $2000 cash money will be awarded once again
this year.
Organizers say, "Highlighting film and video makers working
outside the realm of genre, Hi Mom! has enjoyed mad props from
across the independent festival circuit as an innovative, fun,
free-to-enter festival. With prizes. And that's special. While
we've gotten funny looks from people for our flaming trophies
and pancake in the shapes of your initials, everyone agrees: Hi
Mom! loves you more than any other festival EVER could."
Hi Mom! is sponsored by Carolina Production Guild, a non-profit
filmmakers' resource for UNC students and townies in Chapel Hill,
NC.
An entry form can be found online at http://www.himomfilmfestival.org.
