J.C. Crosby

J.C. Crosby (who called himself "Naval Photographer" on many of his prints) was located at 11 Portland Street, Boston, Massachusetts, in about 1919-1920. During that time, he made many photographs of U.S. Navy ships at the Boston Navy Yard, the great majority of them using panoramic cameras. He appears to have moved to the Norfolk, Virginia area in the later part of 1920, though still using the Boston address. In about January 1921 he may have worked in partnership with another photographer whose family name appears to have been "Falck", but this relationship was apparently brief. By March 1921 Crosby's address was 324 First Street, Portsmouth, Virginia. However, he was back at the Portland Street location in Boston by August of that year. In 1925, his address was 46 Main Street, Somerville, Massachusetts.
