Photo #: 80-G-160238 Camouflage Measure 31-32-33 Series, Design 6A Drawing prepared by the Bureau of Ships for a camouflage scheme intended for aircraft carriers of the Essex (CV-9) class. In Measure 32 this scheme is known to have been applied to USS Franklin (CV-13) and USS Bunker Hill (CV-17). This plan shows the ship's port and starboard sides, bow, stern, and island ends. It is dated 19 July 1943 and was approved by Commander William C. Latrobe, USN. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
