Normandy Invasion, June 1944

View of "Omaha" Beach following emplacement of the "Gooseberry" breakwater of sunken ships, circa mid-June 1944. Several LCTs are beached along the shoreline.
Note the building in the center, near the beach. Another structure, in the center foreground with tents nearby, appears to be a partially constructed fortification.
This view forms the right half of a panorama with Photo # 80-G-258260.
