USS Brooks (Destroyer # 232/DD-232)
Steaming at high speed during trials, 1920.
Photograph from the New York Shipbuilding Corporation, Camden, New Jersey. It bears a date of 18 October 1920, four months after her 18 June 1920 commissioning.
Note her 5"/51 guns. Brooks was one of five "flush-deck" destroyers fitted with these weapons, in place of the usual 4"/50 guns.
