Tied up at Naval Operating Base, Norfolk, Virginia, in October 1937. The ship is flying the two-star flag of Rear Admiral Charles A. Blakely, Commander, Carrier Division Two.
Note anchors, jack flying forward, and retractable navigation light mast on the flight deck.
