Batjan
(Dutch Freighter, 1913)

Photographed circa 1917, possibly while interned at Hampton Roads, Virginia.
Built in 1913 by W. Gray & Company, Ltd, at West Hartlepool, England, and owned by the Dutch firm of Stoomv. Maats., this ship served as USS Batjan (with no ID series number assigned) from March 1918 until July 1919.
