(American Freighter, 1917)

In port, probably at New York City when she was inspected by the Third Naval District on 12 December 1917. The number 265 is painted on her bow in small numerals. She is also fitted with a gun platform forward.
Built by the Fore River Ship Building Company, Quincy, Massachusetts, this steamer was taken over by the Navy and placed in commission on 9 January 1918 as USS F.J. Luckenbach (ID # 2160). She was decommissioned and returned to her owners on 18 August 1919.
