Southport
(American Coastal Passenger Steamship, 1911)

In winter layup, prior to World War I, with her sister ship, SS Westport (built 1911) tied up on her inboard side.
Both were acquired by the Navy on 14 November 1918 for use as ambulance boats, subsequently serving USS Southport and USS Adrian (ID # 2362). They were returned to their owner in September-November 1919.

The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
