Underway, prior to World War I.
This pleasure craft, formerly named Paula, was purchased by the Navy on 5 May 1917 and commissioned as USS Virginia (SP-274). Renamed SP-274 in early 1918, she was stricken on 12 August 1919. She was reported sunk at Detroit Dock on 18 March 1920 and was sold in sunken condition on 1 April 1920.

The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
