Naval Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba


Rear Admiral John D. Bulkeley, USN, Commander of the Naval Base, gets a trickle of water from a water pressure gauges hooked to the pipe that once carried water from the Yateras, Cuba water plant. At the time of this photograph, it registered less than one pound of pressure.
Photographed circa February 1964. The Cuban Government stopped supplying water on 6 February and the water pipe was cut on RAdm. Bulkeley's orders on 17 February.
In the background, the Naval Base's North East Gate can be seen.
