A. Brook Taylor (American Fishing Trawler, 1913)

A. Brook Taylor, a 295 gross ton wooden steam trawler, was built in 1913. During the early months of U.S. participation in the First World War she was inspected for possible U.S. Navy service. Though found suitable for minesweeping duties and assigned the registry number SP-326, she was not taken over and remained in commerical operation.

Photographed in port, 1913, probably at the time her construction was completed.
This steam trawler was examined in 1917 for possible Navy use, and assigned the registry number SP-326. However, she was not taken over by the Navy.

Although considered for acquisition by the Navy during the First World War as a tug or minesweeper, this steam trawler was not taken over. She was numbered SP-326.

The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
