Doris (American Fishing Boat, 1905).
Briefly chartered by the U.S. Navy (as ID # 1646) in 1917

Doris, a 35-foot 2-inch motor fishing boat, was built by Dan Linn of Castle Danger, Minnesota, in 1905. In October 1917 she was reported to have been chartered by the Navy from Mr. Linn, with the registry ID # 1646 assigned, presumably for use as a patrol boat on the Great Lakes. However, she probably never entered service and was returned to her owner in early November 1917.

This page features the only view we have concerning the fishing boat Doris of 1905, which was briefly chartered by the U.S. Navy in 1917.
