Scout (American Steam Boat, 1900).
Served as USS Scout (SP-114) in 1917

Scout, an 81-foot steam-powered pleasure boat, was built at Bristol, Rhode Island, in 1900. She was loaned to the Navy for World War I service in May 1917 and commissioned a month later as USS Scout (SP-114). Though she was employed in the vicinity of New York City, the craft appears to have proven unsuitable for Naval purposes and was returned to her owner in December 1917.

This page features the only view we have concerning the steam boat Scout, which served as USS Scout (SP-114) in 1917.
