Terrier (American Motor Boat, circa 1917).
Served as USS Terrier (SP-960) in 1917-1919
Terrier, a 40-foot motor boat, was built in about 1917
at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a private owner. Intended for patrol
work in connection with the National "Preparedness"
movement, she was turned over to the Navy and placed in commission
as USS Terrier (SP-960) at the beginning of June 1917.
For the remainder of World War I, the craft was assigned to the
Ninth Naval District for duty on Lake Michigan. Terrier
was returned to her owner in March 1919.

Underway, probably in the vicinity of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, soon
after completion.
Built especially for patrol work by the Great Lakes Boat Building
Corporation, of Milwaukee, this craft was commissioned as USS
Terrier (SP-960) on 1 June 1917. She was returned to her
owner by 10 May 1919.
