USNS Henson, a 4260-ton Pathfinder class hydrographic survey ship, was built at Moss Point, Mississippi. She was placed in service with the Military Sealift Command in January 1998.
Henson was named in honor of the Arctic explorer Matthew Alexander Henson (1866-1955).
