USS PC-799, 1944-1948

USS PC-799, a 173-foot submarine chaser built at Portland, Oregon, was commissioned in August 1944. Decommissioned after World War II, she was transferred to the Republic of Korea in early 1950. Renamed Kum Kang San (PC-702), she remained in Korean Navy service until 1960.

This page features our only view of USS PC-799. Other photographs of this ship, taken after her transfer to the Korean Navy, can be found under her ROK Navy name Kum Kang San (PC-702).
