Hi Jeff,

Don´t worry about the ginger. Those experiments are being done on a
small
scale and will not be added to the ginger crop this year.
Yes, you can see all sort of colours . They are mostly white to light
gray.
Sometimes they are yellow. Maybe I have not explained correctly.
The point is : If I have a good vermicompost and if I add some flour to
it.
What can be wrong ?
If I have a good Compost and if I add a little flour to it, what can go
wrong ?
I know that gray, black and red spells trouble. That is not the case.

I am really enjoying working with fungal foods after being inspired of
their
importance by Dr Elaine. It is very sad not having a SFI around so that
you can
test every experiment.

Jose

Jose, I don't like the sound of "gray looking color" in your
description of the pre inoculated compost. Perhaps I simply read it
wrong.

If you are using AH you want to have is a very, nice, white fungal
infusion--"Santa Claus beard" white. It really looks neat and cool and
very much like white rot. It will get a grayish tint as the spore
numbers grow. You described gray fungi. Did I read this wrong? Can
you take a picture and post it? Are you sure it is what you want in your
tea. The only reason I suggest is just because pre-inoculation works
in one compost/humus, doesn't mean it will produce good fungi in
another.

I wouldn't want to see that BEAUTIFUL ginger crop of yours spoiled!

Cheers,

Jeff L ( as we have several Jeff's now!)
