new pesticide study

Dear SustAg People:

I am acting as the scientific coordinator for a Pesticide
Reduction Project with the PEI Environmental Coalition here in Eastern
Canada. We are testing the following on potato fields:
		- Farm For Profit(tm) methods, including 50% reduction in
herbicides and insecticides, an edible oil application which enhances the
action of the reduced chemicals, and application of a patented soil
amendment consisting of microorganisms
		- mechanical weed controls, including a flamer, and
finger tiller
		- literature survey of alternate Colorado Potato Beetle
control, including use of plastic-lined trenches along windrows, flamers,
and garlic spray (an antinutritive for beetles)

I am seeking contact with any growers, researchers, or advocacy
groups who have experience with any of these methods, especially in
potato crops. Please respond to <stewart@cycor.ca>. Our use of the
methods, materials, and name of the Farm For Profit system is not an
endorsement of their products in any way. Thanks in advance for any help.
