[Icelandic trawling]

80's

In 1982, six Icelandic trawlers were still active in Ostend. Four years later, in 1986, only three of them were left:

One of the reasons for this is that it became cheaper to buy the fish and sent it to Ostend by container. In 1982, the cargo vessel Elza-F arrived with 105 tons of Icelandic fish.

Today

Today, there are no active Icelandic trawlers left in Belgium. There are still two Icelandic trawlers afloat (O.305 François Musin and the Z. Angelus) and one dry-docked (O.129 Amandine).
