Seconded. Another major showstopper is the use of search engines. You
are going to face all kinds of pesky problems if you try to make the
site searchable and are using frames. I guess there are more problems.
Ugly scrollbars within pages spring to mind immediately.

Not a lot of tier one web site seem to be using frames anymore for these
very reasons (Amazon, Altavista, Apple, CNN, M$, IBM,.. you name them,
not even Netscape, who invented them in the first place).

Just do not do it, it saves a lot of headache.
