This is the main manual for CVS, written by Per Cederqvist, et al. Available through the Cyclic Software web site.

    Introduction to CVS

Jim Blandy wrote this introduction to CVS, intended to be a one-day course. It is available through the Cyclic Software website.

    CVS Bubbles

Centralized location of lots of info on CVS, including a FAQ, reference manual, tutorial, and other links. Not precisely a "book", per se, but everyone I talked to referred me to it.

This HOWTO, available through the Linux Documentation Project, is a useful guide to setting up a CVS or RCS source code control system.
