Bluebirds and Christmas



Howdy!

I LOVE bluebirds, so I was thrilled to see three bluebirds in the backyard on Monday -- right on cue to add to my Project Feederwatch count!They generally reappear in our yard in January, so I've been happy to see them everyday this week. Wednesday I counted eight! They were fighting over a bird box and suet. Later, I saw two pairs fighting, and rolling on the ground.There was lots of chattering going on during this time, which attracted other birds of course! Finally, the sunflower seed and suet is being eaten this week!

A part of Christmas I enjoy is the Christmas Bird Count. Joe and I will be counting in the Raleigh count tomorrow. I hope the rain holds off till later in the afternoon, please! I prefer the warmer CBC weather in south Florida, where we started birding. But,the bonus in Raleigh is CHICKADEES!
