I had the Ramsey Street/US 401 corridor from Andrews Road into
town, including the King's Grant golf course, Methodist College, the
VA hospital, and the cemetary on the other side of the street from
the hospital. I also covered the Cape Fear Botanical Garden off US
301. I had 33 species totalling 554 individual birds (290 were
starlings). Considering the frigid weather and the frozen state of
the ponds on the north side of Fayetteville, I'm satisfied with my
totals.
My best birds were two loggerhead shrikes. I also found a
golden-crowned kinglet to go with the 8 ruby-crowned kinglets that
turned up during the day.
