Bad, Bad, Bad
Casco Bay Weekly...
www.cascobayweekly.com/
First of all you have to click through to get to the actual
page...annoying...
I think the front page is a waste of space, the color scheme is
depressing. There is a flashing survey icon in the top left corner.
It doesn't pull the reader in and entice them to follow links.
Only one article within the entire web site is plugged on the front page.
The content often does not change for months at a time even though it is
entitled "The Casco Bay WEEKLY".
REALLY BAD
Global Newspaper Link
http://web.idirect.com/~klg/newspape.html
You don't even know what this page is really for unless you bother to
scroll down a screen. Then you are presented with plain old links, no
real description, just links. But it is a useful site nonetheless.
I have also found link decay within this site on several occassions.
(It is a link from another page, but shouldn't web pages be
able to stand on their own?)
REALLY GOOD
NPR news
www.npr.org/news
I think this site is very good. No unnecessary technological frills.
The information is presented concisely, there is excellent use of space,
and all of the information is updated daily. Live audio for some of the
stories is also available. In addition, a discussion list creates
interactivity between the web site and its viewers.
