Frequently Asked Questions: Textbooks Available on Potto
- Can I get a hard copy of the "Fundamentals of Die Casting Design?"
- A hard copy can be mailed for $30 including the delivery cost within the U.S.A.
- Can I get a hard copy of the "Fundamentals of Compressible Flow?"
- Copies hopefully will be available after August, 2007.
- Do you intend to provide numerical sections?
- Yes, on the method of characteristics. I also plan to add a numerical section on a transient one-dimensional calculation Piecewise-parabolic Method (PPM), (a Godunov-type method) which extracts a high degree of accuracy from cell-averaged data on a given grid.

- Can I send you my homework?
- No. If you do not understand a specific question, I will help you, depending on how much time is available. At the same time, please do send any problem you encounter in fundamentals of gas dynamics. If I find the problem interesting, I will add it to the book and acknowledge your contribution.

- Does anyone teach your solution to oblique shock or use your material in filling and evacuating chambers?
-
The analytical solution on oblique shock is relatively new.
The semi-analytical solution is available in two books.
This semi-analytical solution is the predecessor to the current
solution (the same mathematical expressions).
However, the current solution is used in NASA, several
universities in India, many other universities. You can read more
about history of the oblique shock solution
here.
The chamber filling is used by many universities, including in Israel, and USA.
