About MiLife Carolina '04
Welcome!
The Tar Heel Mac Users Group at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is proud to present its inaugural
MiLife Carolina Media Festival, which aims to celebrate college life through
all of the Apple iLife
applications; iMovie,
iDVD, iPhoto,
iTunes and
Garage Band.
The MiLife Carolina Media Festival is a presentation of original motion
picture, musical and graphical presentations that represent the creative
college mind.
Various universities across the nation have undertaken their own iMovieFests
where college students compose works mainly using Apple's iMovie application.
Among the most notable institutions are Emory
University, Boston
College and Georgia Institute of Technology. The Tar Heel MUG at UNC-CH
is taking this idea to a whole new level in 2004 by incorporating all
of the iLife applications in a diverse festival.
MiLife Carolina is a new form of campus event like none other in that
it is all inclusive to any student of the university. Its goal is similar
to other events in that it puts the inspiration where it should be - in
the hands of the students. Like Emory's original Campus iMovieFest, the
MiLife Festival endeavors to promote school spirit through teaching, inspiring
and uniting the entire university population.
The Concept
Students are encouraged to undertake different digital life projects using
the entire iLife suite
of applications, the main theme being “Student life at UNC Chapel
Hill." These projects can involve sports, student organizations,
life as a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, etc. Be creative in diverse
ways!
Participants can use their own equipment and computers, but they can also
use campus labs (UL,
School
of Ed). (see Resources)
