So, who can enter MiLife Carolina Festival? MiLife Festival is open to all students, undergraduate and graduate, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill regardless of year, major, race, creed, sex, etc. Can I only use the Apple iLife applications? MiLife Festival is an all inclusive event, and it does not restrict you to using only Apple's iLife applications. You can use whatever you want to create your submissions, but MiLife festival only offers support and training for Apple iLife applications. They are so easy and fun to use, you really should use them, as the festival does stress using these applications.
Does it cost anything to register? No! MiLife festival is free to take part in; the only restriction is that you be a UNC-CH student.
Where do I submit my masterpiece? Final works can be submitted either on CD or DVD and dropped of in the Undergraduate Library's Media Resources Center. Submissions should be left with Winifred Fordham Metz in the MRC.
Where can I learn to use the iLife applications so I can make my great project? There are several avenues for learning the iLife application beyond simple trial and error. The Tar Heel Mac Users Group, the Undergrad Library's Media Resource Center Labs, and the local Apple Store all offer workshops at various times. See the MiLife Schedule for training session times. Why is there only one general movie category, and not genre categories? Because this is the first year we are holding the MiLife festival, we are not entirely sure as to how many entries we will receive for each category. If we get enough diverse submissions, we will have multiple categories for each type of entry, but there will still be only one best overall that will be awarded the grand prize.
Why is there a ten-minute time limit? A time limit of ten minutes was placed so that we would have time to judge all the MiLife submissions.
Which genres of movies/photos/songs will MovieFest accept? Generally all, including animations, documentaries and entirely computer generated movies.
Can I enter an older work I already composed? No, we want you to take this opportunity to make an all new one!
Do I have to obtain copyright clearance for the music, performance or script? YES! The project creator must own all copyright for or have written permission to use all content in the project, including music, performance and script.
I need to talk with a real
