I don't see how hH PETRA DE HN hO CRISTOS in verse four answers my
question about my question about the referent of KURIOS in verse nine
[1]. The statement hH PETRA DE HN hO CRISTOS looks like figurative
language whereas MHDE EKPEIRAZWMEN TON CRISTON does not look like
figurative language.

[1] This question "what is the referent of KURION in 1Cor 10:9" is to
some extent tied up with the textual issue but assuming that Meyer,
Alford and Robertson-Plummer have it right[2] and the ambiguity of TON
KURION resulted in both marginal glosses TON CRISTON and TON QEON,
then we might just for the sake of this disucussion forget about TON
CRISTON and TON QEON.

[2] I suspect (not sure) the only new evidence since Plummer is p46.
