Carrboro’s DSI Comedy Theater has announced the hiring of Shane Hudson as its new theater manager.
Hudson attended Emerson College, earning a BFA in arts management. He worked for 14 years in the Boston area as an arts administrator, where he was general manager for Blue Man Group Boston, theater manager for the Charles Playhouse and an arts program administrator for Brandeis University.
DSI (short for “Dirty South Improvâ€) continues to bolster its reputation and influence on the national improv and alternative comedy scene through its coast-to-coast network of over 100 professional improv actors, a highly regarded improv training center and with IMPLOSION, its college improv outreach program.
DSI was selected as the 2006 Business of the Year by the Chapel-Hill Carrboro Chamber of Commerce.
“We are thrilled to welcome Shane to the DSI community,†said DSI owner and executive producer Zach Ward.
This week DSI hosts Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh as the guest monologist in two special performances of MISTER DIPLOMAT. The shows are at DSI Comedy Theater on Friday, May 11 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The performances are being sponsored by Bulls Head Bookshop.
