Learn what’s on the horizon
Speakers from Orange County, Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough will talk about upcoming development projects and other items on the county’s horizon at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce’s first Orange County Development Breakfast, Monday, September 10 from 8:00 to 10: 00 a.m. at UNC’s Friday Center. Cost to attend is $25 for chamber members and $35 for non-members. Register online at www.carolinachamber.org/members/register.html or call 967-7075.

Sustainable nominees sought
Help the Foundation for a Sustainable Community recognize the organizations that make our community a better place to live, work and raise a family. Nominations are open for the 2007 Sustainable Business of the Year award. Nominate your choice for Sustainable Business of the Year by downloading the nomination form.

A sustainable business is any organization that promotes and advances the triple bottom line of community sustainability: environmental stewardship, social equity and economic prosperity.
In submitting your nominee, you should explain why the organization demonstrates a unique commitment to the triple bottom line.

Local business showcase
The 6th Annual Orange County Business Expo will be held Monday, November 5th from 1:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel. The event is presented by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Hillsborough/Orange County Chambers of Commerce and the Orange County Economic Development Commission as a showcase of local businesses. Exhibition prices are $300 for a booth and $225 for a table if paid before October 5 and $325 and $250 if paid after. For more information, or to reserve exhibition space, contact the Orange County EDC at 245-2325.

Take the 5Q bus
Enjoy a meal and some shopping before every UNC home football game and then take a ride to the stadium on the 5th Quarter Tar Heel Express bus. The service will pick up and drop off fans at the P Lot on Estes Dr. and the lot at 725 MLK Jr. Blvd. These sites will offer express bus service beginning three hours before the start of the game and will run for three hours after the game ends Drop-off points will include both parking lots, Franklin Street, Tar Heel Town and Kenan Stadium.
