Posted on September 13, 2007September 13, 2007 by Staff

Chelcy Elizabeth Boyer and Frederic Daniel Stutzman were married on June 23, 2007, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Boone by the Reverend Cynthia Banks and the Reverend Father John Kirwin.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner reception at the historic Apple Barn in Valle Crucis.

The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Mary Boyer of Creston. She received both her bachelor and master degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill and is the Outreach and Engagement Librarian at NCSU Libraries. The groom is the son of Fred and Anne Stutzman of Albany, New York. A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, he is a doctoral candidate there in information science.

Matron of honor was the bride’s sister-in-law, Jennifer Boyer. Bridesmaids were Ellen Stutzman and Kathleen Stutzman, sisters of the groom. The bride’s brother, Joshua Boyer, was the best man.

Groomsmen were childhood friends James Davies and John Pjontek. The flower girl was Mary Kathleen Boyer, niece of the bride, and the ring bearer was Alexander Mason Boyer, nephew of the bride.
The bride and the bridegroom met at the Bull’s Head Bookshop. The reception (with gracious planning help from Bill Smith at Crook’s Corner) was Southern, church social style, and included ham, fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs. Guests enjoyed homemade pies, instead of cake, and much of the food came from the bride’s mother’s garden. After a honeymoon trip to the Outer Banks, the couple resides in Carrboro.
