Why I’m Supporting Coleman
Last year, as a member of the Roberson Place Neighborhood Association Through-Road Committee, I had an opportunity to meet and work with Alderman Dan Coleman. What struck me immediately about Dan was his true desire and willingness to listen to our neighborhood’s concerns and his in-depth understanding of the historical, financial and technical issues at play.

While Dan was certainly a proponent for the road-connectivity policies of Carrboro’s land-use ordinance, he also expressed concerns about the proposed connector road. He had concerns about the temporary nature of the project and the environmental impact of the resulting solid waste as well as the lack of fiscal responsibility in using town funds to help finance a temporary connector road. Dan was also extremely concerned the proposed vehicular connector did not adequately safeguard pedestrians and bicyclists from the intrusion of vehicles.

Since then, I have followed Dan’s work closely. He continues to impress me with his sound judgment, creative thinking and collaborative approach to issues and problems and with his ability to bridge divides.

Dan tirelessly works for the smart and diverse growth of Carrboro with an eye on the environmental impact of that growth. In the day-to-day decisions, he always keeps an eye on Carrboro’s long-term vision for the future.

Please join me in supporting Dan Coleman for alderman on November 6.
