Field Hockey
The Chapel Hill High Lady Tigers defeated the East Chapel Hill Lady Wildcats at home Monday in a thrilling match. ECCHS scored in the first half and CHHS’s Taylor Wahrenbrock scored in the second.
Two overtimes went scoreless before a penalty shootout. Liz Passannante scored the final goal while Tiger goalkeeper Alyssa Stefanadis blocked all of East’s penalty strokes. The CHHS JV team also won, defeating the JV Wildcats 3-0.
Basketball coaches
The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department is currently accepting volunteer coach’s applications for the 2007-08 Youth Basketball Program. Coaches must exhibit the ability to organize practices and communicate effectively with players 6 to 8 years old or 9 to 10 years old, parents and Recreation Department staff.

Players wanted
Carrboro is sponsoring a Youth Basketball Program for ages 6 to 15 (as of October 15). Registration is currently being accepted during office hours Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Recreation office, Carrboro Century Center, The fee is $52 for Orange County residents and $91 for non-Orange County residents. Registration forms must be signed by a parent or guardian and are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.
