The crosscountry team finished out their regular season with a lot of Mustang Pride. Both the boys and girls put their hearts and souls into the meets – and it worked – they both won!
The girls went first. It was the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishes of Tristin VanOrd, Katey Furey and Emily Williams that sealed the win against Stanback. Other excellent finishers were Erin McGibbon, Marleigh Cannon, Rachel Weaver and Kathleen Cannon. Final score was Lady Mustangs 25, Stanback 31.
The boys went all out in their meet. The boys received a perfect score because the top five finishers were all Mustangs. They were Mitch McLeod, Conor Templeton, Brendan Neville, Mark Flournoy and Grant Cabell. Final score was McDougle 15, Stanback 48.
Coach Whitaker and Coach Proto are extremely proud of their teams — they finished this season showing determination and heart — which just proves it’s anyone’s game at next Saturday’s OPAC meet!
